Summer Swimming

Monday evening, Kaelyn and Ian swam in another meet. I had promised Ian I would buy him ice cream if he would swim freestyle all the way to the other end of the pool without stopping and he did it!!!! I was a timer in a different lane, but from the corner of my eye I watched him swim and he didn't ever stop and won his heat. He shaved almost 15 seconds off his original time. I was so proud of him and wish I had a video to show everyone. Kaelyn is continually improving as well. She swam in her first relay and even though her team came in last and she was the last leg, she swam as fast as she could. It was unbelievably hot (I heard 101 degrees). The younger kids and I left before the relay, so Nate took a video.

On Saturday, we went to Maya's birthday Luau party. It was lots of fun and Nate and the kids really enjoyed the swimming pool. Even Luke got a chance to swim and loved it!

Annika got into a little tube and learned that with that, she could 'swim' on her own. Look at this grin!

The week before that we went to the river (again) with Ben, Becky and their boys. Annika loves to play with Brecon. When we were about to leave, she was pulling him on this board.

Of course you can guess what happens next...

Nate was crazy enough to go on this rope swing.
