The Team that Ruled the Soccer World 

Annika has started to play on a soccer team with all her preschool friends. The team is called the 'Frogs', inspired by Disney's Frog Princess and the team's color happens to be green. It's perfect! My friend Jodi is the coach and she does an awesome job with these kids. I am sort of the assistent coach. Saturday was the first game and it was just as hilarious as I had expected. None of the kids seemed to have a clue what they were supposed to do. After a while, some of them were starting to get it, but most of the time the kiddos were running off the field, crying, to be consoled and encouraged by their parents. Annika hardly spent any time on the field and she kicked the ball maybe twice. After a while, the referee let one parent per child on the field to hold their hand and shadow coach them. That helped a lot. One of the parents streamed footage of the game from his phone to this website and will continue to do that each Saturday until March 6th if you want to spend the time watching the games.

Before the game, Annika put on her uniform. She thought she looked too much like a boy. I assured her she looked just beautiful as ever, but she put on a tiara anyway and looked even more like a frog princess. It was a little too windy for wearing a tiara on the field, so she didn't wear it during the game.

This is what Annika mostly did when on the field. She and some of the other girls just stood there and watched.

There was a birthday party for Isaiah after the game with pizza, cupcakes and a pinata after the game. I think she had a lot of fun and was glad she didn't go home like she was cuntinually asking for during the game. I asked her why she didn't want to play and she replied that she didn't like the blue kids (the team they played against) and just wanted them to get off the field. Too funny! She missed the whole point of the game! Hopefully she will get used to it by the end of the season. There are only two other teams:)
