Crazy Hair Day and More Wildlife Excitement

One day we get to look at a toad, the next thing Nate catches is one of the little lizards that lives in/around the house. They're the cutest little things and nothing like the nasty cockroaches, although they run just as fast. We've had many encounters with these and Ian has been wanting one as a pet for a while. He sort of had his dream come true last night, just before bedtime. Nate opened up his hands to show the lizard to the kids and it jumped right out, on the floor and tried to get away... up inside my pant leg. I shook him out of there and it lost its tail in the process (lizards drop their tails when they try to get away from predators, but it grows back). Nate got it again and then the kids started passing it around. Annika wouldn't touch it, but loved to watch. She was convinced the baby lizard needed its mommy. Finally, we decided it should go back outside. The kids released it and Ian started crying (he also had a hard time after releasing the toad the other day). He already loved that little lizard so much and missed it. He'll get over it though.

Today is crazy hair day at Kaelyn's school. She wanted her hair green with sparkles. It looks great on her!

Heeft Ian het zelfde gevoel voor beesten als Jan? Het lijkt er wel op.
