Soccer (or Football for the Rest of the World)

Kaelyn and Ian started playing soccer a few weeks ago. Ian is quickly picking up on the game, he has pretty good control of the ball and he's fast. Unfortunately, some of his T-ball games and soccer practices have been at the same time. He'll have a few more weeks of T-Ball and soccer games start this Saturday. Soccer season lasts through mid December.

Kaelyn is still learning to be aware of where the ball is and ends up chasing it most of the time. She has fun though. She came up with the name for her team 'the Cheetahs'. One of the moms was laughing after practice last night, because it sounds so much like 'cheaters' (when you say it in slang).

I sometimes wish I could record all my conversations with Ian and the funny things he comes up with. During the game he was looking at my growing belly.
Ian: "Mom, what's that fat thing on your belly?"
Me: "That's your baby brother."
Ian: "Oh."
I bet it's hard to imagine for a little kid. He was probably thinking I eat too much.

Annika was busy trying to kick her soccer ball and finding sticks and rocks at the park
