We have an indoor skating rink in San Antonio, believe it or not. Kaelyn really wanted to learn how to ice skate, so we took the kids on Saturday afternoon. Annika fell asleep on the way and Nate took the kids on the ice. They immediately clung to the outside wall. After a while, they made it all the way around after much slipping and falling. After a half hour, Ian was done. It was just too hard, he said. We watched a hockey match through the window of the other rink. He was fascinated. Kaelyn was ready to quit after about an hour. It really was a lot harder than they had expected, but I think they had fun trying. There were some pretty small kids there who looked like they had been on skates their whole lives. It was a nice relief from the heat anyway. I wish I would have brought the camera, it was pretty cute to watch the kids trying to get a grip on the ice.
Yesterday, Ian took his goggles to the bathtub. I was wondering why, until he was ready to rinse the shampoo out of his hair. He put the goggles on (they got shampoo on them anyway) and that's how he kept the water from getting into his eyes. Pretty clever!

What a cleaver little guy!
We have great memories at the ice rink in San Antonio. It is a fun place. I love Ian's goggle idea.
