TMI in 3s

My wonderful sister-in-law, Heather, tagged me with this recently, so here you have it: 3 joys, 3 fears, 3 goals, 3 obsessions/collections, 3 random/surprising facts about yourself.

So 3 joys...
1. Family first, right? Even though things are not always easy (or maybe because of that), my husband and children bring me the greatest joy in life. I feel so blessed with them and they each bring a new dimension to my life. And of course all my extended family and friends. I've been blessed to have so many amazing people around me.
2. The Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ (maybe this should be #1). I don't know what I would do without knowing the purpose of life and the perspective the Gospel brings. I am the most happy and content when I feel myself wrapped in God's love. (Or in other words, when I am keeping my part of the promises I've made to Him).
3. Learning new things, or watching my children learn new things. I don't think there are many things more exciting than the 'aha' feeling, like you finally get it.

3 Fears
1. Not being good enough, I always feel like I fall short somewhere. Maybe I should stop being so hard on myself.
2. Having to take one of my kids (or my husband) to the ER. Ian's been close a few times (splitting his head open), but luckily Nate was able to bring home some glue and fix him up every time.
3. Being split up from my family and being deported by immigration for some reason. I think everyone who's had to deal with the immigration bureaucracy has learned to resent the system. I really need to get started on becoming a citizen before my green card expires in 2014:)

3 Goals
1. Finish my one last course (English technical writing) required for my bachelor's degree. Then I'd like to get certified in Montessori education.
2. Become a yoga instructor. I really love to teach exercise classes, because it makes me push myself harder. And yoga because it's so calming and uplifting and beneficial.
3. Share the Gospel with friends. I've become way too reluctant since I finished my full-time mission. If the Gospel really is the most precious thing I have in my life, then why am I not sharing it with everyone?

3 Obsessions/Collections
1. Every morning, I have to know what the weather forecast is.
2. I'm a little obsessed with saving the environment. I have a collection of reusable shopping bags and produce bags. Now if I could only remember to take them into the store with me, hee hee! At home, I'm the recycle Nazi and I can't wait till we get our new (much larger) recycling bin some day (we now make do with 2 small ones). The other thing is cloth diapers. Annika has been cloth diapered for most of her life (not 100%, but I've washed a lot of diapers). And now that she's pretty much potty trained, we're even more environment friendly at our house:) I know, this really is an obsession.
3. I love classic mini series like the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility and the French version of The Count of Monte Cristo. The scenery and acting in these are amazing!

3 Random/Surprising facts about yourself
1. I don't know if I can come up with 3, I'm pretty boring and not full of surprises. (Thinking....) I guess if they're not surprising they can still be random, right? OK. I'm allergic to all nuts, including peanuts, coconut, almonds, pistachios, you name a nut, I react to it. Also chocolate really upsets my digestive system, so if I ever refuse a dish or dessert, I'm not trying to hurt anyone's feelings.
2. I really, really, really want my next baby to be born at home with a midwife. It's not looking like it's going to happen though, because our insurance doesn't cover much of the cost. Delivering at the Air Force hospital costs next to nothing. So if anyone can help me talk Nate into it... I really sometimes wish I could go to Holland just for the delivery, like snap my fingers and be there. Oh, and this might be a surprising fact for some: I am 16+ weeks pregnant (baby due in February, probably the later part with my history of going past the estimated due date by a week or so). And yes, this was planned and we're excited.
3. This could also go under collections/obsessions, but if I had the time with no little kids around, I would be sewing a lot. I have stacks of fabric for unfinished (or never started) projects sitting around. I also love to knit. Same story.

3 People I tag:
