Knock, knock.

Annika is turning into a real little character. A few days ago I was changing a diaper and she said: "Knock, knock." I replied: "Who's there?" Annika: "Banana." I:"Banana who?"

A: "Knock, knock."

I:"Who's there?"

A: "Banana."

I: "Banana who?"

A: "Knock, knock."

We kept going on for a few more rounds before I tried to teach her the end of the joke, but she didn't seem to get it. It was hilarious, you should hear her say the word 'banana'. It's so cute.

The other day, out of the blue, she started singing the Backyardigans song and was doing something with her leg. It took me a moment, but then I realized it was an imitation of their signature dance. If you don't know what the Backyardigans are, they're a cute cartoon on Nickelodeon and obviously Annika's favorite.

When I'm cooking dinner and not holding her at the same time, Annika loves to pull the pots and pans out of the cupboard. I think she just wants to be part of dinner preparation. Yesterday, she had invented her own stove (a step stool) and within moments she was cooking right along with me (see picture). She's great at imitating.

She is getting so tall, she can reach the light switch in the downstairs bathroom. She had a great time today flipping the lights on and off while she filled her diaper ;o)

Hi Debbie-
Alex used to play with pots and pans ALL day long. I loved it! Your little Annika sounds like so much fun!
