Preschool Parties

The past two days we had 'preschool' at our house. Wednesday we had the one where the moms stay. The theme was letter P. Some of the kids came dressed up as Pirate or Princess for show-and-tell. We did a puppet show of the 3 little pigs for story time after we read 'The Paper Bag Princess' (Ian was the wolf of course).
I've had this big parachute and a box of parachute games for a few years now and decided this was a great time to use it. While the kids were popping popcorn, bouncing pillows, etc. with it, I put the snack (or perhaps I should say lunch) together. I had so much fun coming up with all this. The main item was a pig face pancake. Around it I put pretzels, peach mango paradise potato chips, peaches and a piece of pizza. The drink was pomegranate punch.

I had bought frozen pancakes at the grocery store. A box of regular and a box of mini. I cut a mini pancake in half for the ears and poked holes in another one for the nose. The eyes are blueberries. It was easy to just heat the pancakes in the microwave.

When everyone was ready to leave, we found Annika and Heather (one of the other siblings) playing with and handing eachother straws that we had used for the puppet show (the first little pig's 'straw' house). It looked so funny, these two little girls with straws sticking out of their mouths, I just had to grab my camera.

Yesterday, I jumped in last minute to save the Valentines Party for the other preschool group. This is my 3rd year doing the alphabet with various preschool groups. It was easy to come up with letter L stuff. 'Love' and 'ladybug' are Valentines staples. I really liked the interactive story from the previous day and decided to do 'Little Red Riding Hood'. Since we already had the wolf out...

At the end of the day I was exhausted.
