Ian is finally old enough to play T-Ball in our local Little League. He's been so excited ever since we signed him up. He kept asking: "Is it Spring Break yet?" He keeps asking when he plays T-Ball next. This week, we got a call from the coach and Ian has his first two practices under his belt. Nate went with him for the first. Yesterday, I got to go. Of course it was the hottest day of the year so far (93 degrees!) and I had the girls and on top of that a friend's daughter with me. They were so bored!
Ian is definitely the smallest kid on the team. The other kids are probably around 6. During the practice, Ian got distracted easily and played with the dirt on the field. He can hit pretty well and is learning to throw and catch the ball. Even though he's the smallest, he holds his own and interacts well with the other kids. He calls them his T-Ball friends. They had 180 kids sign up for just T-Ball this year. There are 18 teams, so they'll have lots of games. I hope Ian keeps enjoying it. His team is the Cardinals. The cardinal happens to be Ian's favorite kind of bird. He's got baseball pants and cleats (which he loves to wear). Nate got a tee and a bat and bases a while ago. Now I just have to buy a mitt myself and we can all play!
