Oops...
I took the kids to the mall this week to buy them new shoes for the upcoming school year. After I parked in the parking garage and had pulled the kids and the stroller out of the van, I realized the van was sticking a little too far out of the parking spot. I decided to pull it up a bit and looked for my keys, but... they were nowhere to be found and I had locked the van from the inside. It was an awful feeling and the last time it happened was about three years ago and the car was still running with the keys locked inside that time. Nate had come to my rescue, but this time I was so relieved that we have a AAA membership. I called them and within 20 minutes a locksmith had 'broken into' the van and I retrieved the keys from the floor. It was quite the adventure (I was sweating, because I was nervous and it was pretty hot). I was also glad that I had my cellphone and it was actually charged! Anyway, I'll have to start locking the van with the remote control from now on...

I know that feeling! Thank heavens for Triple A.
I remember calling AAA about nine years ago and saying "I bet you don't have many people call who have locked their keys in the car while it's still running." I'm glad I'm not alone!
Ugh! I have done that but we don't have AAA so it cost us 50 bucks.
The locksmith knew my sister by first name, she left her keys in car so often. It still cracks me up to this day. Her husband finally got her a magnetic box that she put under her bumper with an extra key.
I found out a few weeks ago that our van doesn't let you lock the front doors while the van is running....otherwise I would have done the same thing! We had so much fun with you guys while you were here! I wish that we could see you more often.
