We got to spend a few days on vacation in Utah with family. It was a great time and it was too bad it was so short. We drove the distance on the weekends and Nate did the bulk of the driving, so I'm sure he was exhausted. Kaelyn and Ian had the time of their lives with Grandpa and Grandma and aunts, uncles and cousins. Even Annika warmed up relatively quickly. We were there for 5 days and for some reason Kaelyn and Ian thought we were staying through Saturday. When they realized on Friday evening that we'd be leaving the next morning, they started crying inconsolably. Grandma and Grandpa had to help comfort them and Grandma read them a bedtime story that night. Just look at those gloomy faces. We sure made some great memories!

When we left the next morning, they cried again and it lasted a while. Next time, they want to stay for at least 10 days. I don't blame them. All the fun they had and the attention they got...
Nate and I were able to spend some time together which was great. Kaelyn's vacation report is below. I think Nate's favorite part was the fireworks on Pioneer Day. Here in the city of San Antonio they're illegal, even on July 4th. The kids were in awe and I couldn't get enough of looking at Mitchell's face. Annika wanted to go inside about half way, because she was scared of the loud noise.
