Potty Time!

Annika has been showing interest in going potty for a while now. I guess I've just been lazy about it. At stores especially, she'll ask to go potty all the time. So today I decided to see how she would do in training pants. I got her some that look just like underwear. She loves them because they're pink and super soft. We started after breakfast, after she had filled up a diaper. I explained to her she was wearing extra special underwear that needs to stay dry and that pee and poo go in the potty. She seemed to understand, so after an hour or so I asked her if she wanted to go potty. She did and was still dry! Later, the kids did a project at the Home Depot. After we finished, Annika said: 'Need go potty.' And sure enough, she went again, still dry. Even at Ian's T-Ball game this afternoon she went potty twice (once after her nap and a second time false alarm). I was so proud of her. We sang 'The Eensy Weensy Spider' each time she went and clapped and cheered after. She was still dry when she went to bed! I'm amazed. She's stayed dry during the night before, so we'll see how tonight and tomorrow go. I'm glad it's General Conference weekend and we don't have to go anywhere.

That's truly amazing! How old is she? She sounds young by how she is talking. Way to go!

Today is not going quite as well. Maybe I'm not as vigilent as yesterday, or maybe yesterday was just a fluke. Who knows, we're going to keep trying anyway! Annika doesn't even want to wear diapers anymore. This may take a while...

Mason made us chicken cordon-bleu for dinner tonight, that was after he spent the week painting our basement.

Still in diapers though...
